Hailing from Gidarbaha, Punjab, Advocate Jasavar Singh emigrates to Vancouver, Canada, to live with his friend, Advocate Baldev Raj Khanna, along with a Punjabi-speaking loner from Kenya, Vemsky. They open an 'Only Samosas' business. Jasavar then meets with Simran and they both fall in love with each other. His life takes a turn for the worse when he gets involved in an accident by a vehicle driven by Simran's wealthy guardian, Jagpal Bir Singh. The events that follow reveal that Simran's guardian may have been invloved in trying to kill Jasavar.
