A nice movie with a very good message
This movie is about two men working at a gas station in Poland. It depicts the standard polish life, however there are some things happening which are not standard. There is a crime involved and a killer who visits the station, these two guys work in! I would say that this polish movie is excellent and a very good one to think of the sense of life and about money, as money is the main idea behind this movie. I assume there is no English version of it. I would recommend this movie to everyone who likes polish movies! One can learn a lot from these movies. It is always important to view them in its original version! So you should know the polish language!
The previous reviewer got it all wrong
I just watched the "Station". I thought it was a very well-made film. Excellent soundtrack, too. The previous reviewer bitched about the script. Try watching most American films and tell me the scripts are good. This film developed many of the characters to an extent rarely seen in most contemporary American film. Of course, B. Linda & Z. Zamochowski are excellent in most any film. I think the director liked K. Kowslowski. Everyone seems to steal his shots. I thought the plot was a little hard to follow but I attributed it to my poor Polish and trying to read subtitles that were coming fast & furious.
Not the Best, but Not the Worst Either
This isn't the best movie I've ever seen, but it certainly isn't the worst. I watched it primarily because Boguslaw Linda is in it. True to form, Linda is great as always. He isn't on camera a lot, but when he does he shines. The other actors do an adequate job, and the plot is plausible, but it is Linda that makes this film worth the two hours of your time. I wonder when Hollywood is finally going to come to their senses and beg Linda to make an American film. Most Americans have never heard of Linda, but I have no doubt that they would be an appreciative audience if only given the exposure to this man's great talent.I know Linda could easily walk away with an Oscar if the opportunity presented itself.
A waste of time.....
What an awful movie this is. The only thing that is here fully accomplished is the presentation of so many polish actors of the first category. It seems that they were unemployed and needed an "Arbeitsbeschaffungsmassnahme". This movie is with no doubt a mess! The story was cut out of many others already made! A drunken and unconscious Polanski would spit out a script worlds better than this thing!! The dialogs are worthless, and you can't even learn a new polish swearword. This crap is so extremely bad, that i've begun to think, why i haven't become a script writer?? I can't be worse than that! Hardly nobody can!!
