  • Creepy Family Tradition

    claudio_carvalho2018-10-02

In the Nineteenth Century, in Russia, people believe that a photograph would be capable to capture the soul of the diseased person and then transfer into a new body. In the present days, the college student Nastya (Viktoriya Agalakova) and her boyfriend, the photographer Vanya (Vyacheslav Chepurchenko) get married. Soon Vanya´s sister Liza (Aleksandra Rebenok) invites them to marry in her house in the countryside to follow and ancient family tradition. Nastya decides to go despite the objections of Vanya. They are welcomed by Liza and soon Nastya sees weird things in the old house. She seeks out Vanya but Liza informs that he has gone to the town with his friends. What will Nastya do? "Nevesta" is a creepy underrated Russian horror film about family tradition and dark secrets. The mysterious screenplay is tense since Nastya fells that something is not right but she is trapped alone in the old house by the family of her fiancée. The plot is well resolved and the acting is good. My vote is seven. Title (Brazil): "A Noiva" ("The Bride")

  • Supernatural Horror in a OK Movie

    Paulo_Clemente2017-05-20

Nastya travels with the husband to a rural village in Russia to meet his sister. After she gets there she starts suspecting that something is wrong and starts witnessing sinister and unusual things. Well like i said that's an OK movie, i like the plot, the actors do a good job but sometimes the movie like jumps from scene to scene in a strange way. With a better sequence on some scenes the movie in my opinion could be worth of a 7/8 stars. And of course, i like horror but is getting boring when the movies finish always in the same way, you're already expecting for that ending. It would be nice to be surprised with the movie ending.

  • Wonderfully creepy!

    paulclaassen2018-06-21

Wow, quite wonderful, actually. The film was really creepy, not just because of what happens, but also because of the premise. The contrast between the old and new in a modern world is great, adding to the creepiness. This is the story of a family curse and an innocent bride that could break the curse, wonderfully acted by Victoria Agalakova. Her husband, Ivan (Victor) is not really a strong character and it seems the film does just great without him. Bride Nastya (Victoria) is the star and hero of the film. The visual effects and make-up are very good and quite scary, too. This is a classic 80s style horror.

  • Just runaway...

Horrible. Plot was predictable. What I didn't like about this was the trailer showed a lot of promise. It looks scary. Sure, the plot was as expected, but there weren't even scary parts. I did not even cover my eyes. No parts of it. None. Not even a jump or a squeak. ***DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE PLANS OF WASTING YOUR TIME*** Ancestor did something terrible by sacrificing a virgin to reincarnate his wife. Obviously she becomes immortal. Soon her flesh will die but the spirit will live on. Or else. And of course the protagonist will prevail. Against all STUPID odds. Vanya was a weakling. Nastya was, well, a bit slow. And the rest just doesn't make sense. The "hidden chambers" was already burning. Why is the house still standing? No smokes? And can't Vanya smash the rest of the walls so he can fit while Nastya was rescuing the kids while it's burning? Probably, just probably, this would have been better with better script- writing (you know, with common sense. seriously, the house is burning but no damage??!!!). But I'm not going to let my hopes up.

  • Destroy the PLATE!

    Buddychild2018-08-26

So bad. Never in my life did I wanted a person to die in a movie as badly the "Bride"-Natia(sp?- who cares) she was the worse basically just a lot of doe eyed starring and yes why didn't she destroy the negative, or run, or close her dangling mouth. Bad acting all around, well except the children. Stupid plot, I still don't know why the whole town, of about 20 folks, did this man's bidding or why Mother mattered to them or why they thought Natia was a virgin. We're they a cult? Who knows? Also why was mother's face painted white as the killing mother but rotten as the corpse bride. Thank God it was only 2.99 on Amazon. Do not waste your time. Oh and enough of the grunge girl creaking bones spider walk, can't someone be creative enough to think of another way for a rotten dead corpse to move? Ugh.
