Twelve-year-old Marta grows up in the countryside raised by her mother Anna alone. She is convinced that her father is dead. It is no easy childhood. She is not liked by his peers, she often quarrels with her mother. She's missing her father, so she spends a lot of time with Uncle Cezary. Meanwhile, her mother's husband, Jerzy comes to the village, who left Anna when she became pregnant. Soon the girl makes a shocking discovery.
