This is pretty bad
My 9 year old son actually enjoyed it, but I still wouldn't recommend anyone else watching it with their children. It's rated PG by MPAA, for mild rude humor, but I think it should have been PG 13 at least. There was a scene in the beginning that had a Jessica Rabbit looking character that got her dress stuck in her limo door and pulled off exposing her in underwear. I thought other people should be warned about this because the rating obviously didn't. Also, there are almost no monkeys in it. If you're going by the IMDb name wouldn't be misleading. The version I got from the Redbox was titled Monkey Business, and had what looked like some pirate monkeys on the front. So there's misleading thing number two. One of the main "heroes" is a duck whose name I can't remember now, even while still watching this video. She is constantly doing really mean things to people, and being rude to her friends with no consequences. That's a great message to send to your children. Really the only character that was interesting was a little chick (baby chicken) named Nameless. He doesn't talk, but rather communicates by holding up a sign with a picture on it. He seems to also be the only one of the five good guys that can accomplish anything. The rest of the team seem to be there to either foul up or make fun of others for fouling up.
NOT for children
I was SHOCKED to look up at the television, to see a close up of almost bare breasts on the screen, then in a split second, the characters dress was torn off exposing her practically nude body. Which I might add, was designed to have her looking like a "playboy bunny" or something of that nature. Just sick. Who in their right mind would call this a children's movie? As a mother, I would strongly suggest that you do not let your children watch this.
The jump within the TV show... in a theatrical experience!
Gruppo Alcuni's "Pet Pals", Italy's animated TV show, has jumped from traditional 2D to 3D CGI in their first entry in computer animation in its first theatrical film. Expanding beyond the first three seasons of the show, thid film takes place in months after the show's third season finale. It introduces new characters and a new villain group, leaded by the name of Crow Witch. The plot kicks off when Moby the Dog (The leader of the "Pet Pals") calls to reunite the members, which consisting of Holly the Cat, Diva the Duck, Tophat the Rabbit, Pio the Frog, and Nameless the (silent) Chick, to uncover the secrets of Marco Polo's Code (which is secretly kept in Aldo's library in Venice, Italy) and, maybe, to stop Crow Witch to drain Venice's water canals. The show creators, Francisco & Sergio Manfio, are involved with them writing (w/ Antonio Garrido) and the latter directing. The film's animation is made in-house at The Alcuni Group, Venice, Italy, while the credits short "A Recipe for a Cake..." is made outside by Bigrock in Italy. It's definitely be a mystery-adventure, with a lot of laughs, in a vein of the "National Treasure" installments.
It's been 3000 years...
Ok, so I finally return to the hell that is the film industry, I actually saw this obscure movie when I was young and they guy who inspired me to make reviews actually made a review on this, before I start the picture shows a bear and a, frog? But I don't remember a bear appearing and maybe the frog (if he was a crocodile, when the coconut was his you would fear his pirate's scorn) was in it but oh well. So as far as I remember the movie starts in a town and well, that's it, they go to some places to find Marco Polo's code (Marco Polo strangely looks like that lion from that sword in the stone movie on DVD in this film, i think there was even a trailer for it at the start) there is some ghost, some evil crow witch (creative name) the another nut song (Lenny face) sung by the god of film characters, Coon Coon, who is sadly not as much of a god compared to Escargoon from Kirby right back at ya! And an interactive moment from a 3 year old film that would have caused workers to come in due to the loud noises in the cinema. I sadly gave this movie to one of my mom's friends for their daughter, I can't express my problems cause I need to watch a sequel made by a nut job (wink wink) but what I DO KNOW IS THERE WAS A CARTOON OF THIS! YES! A CARTOON! I'M SERIOUS! I need a break, all the wolf children fans found my review not useful out of rage to make me seen bad, but I need to prepare for cringe, goodbye!
