Poland. West Coast. 1966. Szczecin Stargard next to a huge Soviet military airport in Kluczew. Mariusz Marzeda - a provincial opera and operetta tenor- comes into neighbourly conflict with a local courtesan. He is used to practising early in the morning whereas the daughter of Corinth wants to sleep off working hard at night. As the woman is extremely influential in the area, Marzeda becomes a social outcast. Then the Soviet army, especially the general- major Jurij Ogorcow who is totally in love with music, decides to defend him.

  • Excellent comedy in the old style

    Long time ago I was so amused, and while I watched this movie. I remember those times and I know that it was. People in Western Europe will never understand the nuances of life under communism. And some of the things mentioned with fondness, and finally the years of my youth. Returning to film - like another film with Cezary, "Nothing funny." The specific humor, not for every viewer (hence perhaps the bad reviews), often exaggerated characters. It is a pity that not showing more of Magdalena, my favorite actress. However, some scenes cause uncontrollable laughter. Some people in Poland (and not only) believe that you can not laugh about these days, because martyrdom, because the victims, because of persecution. It is good that not everyone thinks this way. I think that the only laughter can relieve hard times. For me it's back to good old Cezary form. Keep it up!
