SYNOPSICS

Artie (2000) is a English movie. Matt Berman has directed this movie. Seth Walther,Kevin P. Farley,Heather McComb,Christine Steel are the starring of this movie. It was released in 2000. Artie (2000) is considered one of the best Comedy movie in India and around the world.

In many ways, Artie Woods is a typical college senior: he's shy, a bit awkward, and is still trying to figure out how to fit in. But Artie has a problem that makes it difficult to interact with people. Since he was a child, Artie has been stricken with chronic flatulence, and while his good friend Bear accepts him as he is and gets him into a fraternity, not every one else is so charitable about Artie's frequent gaseous outbursts. Artie becomes infatuated with Andrea, a sexy co-ed, and to his surprise, Andrea seems interested in him as well. But Andrea is just using Artie to toy with her incredibly jealous boyfriend, and Artie doesn't recognize that Emily, a pretty transfer student he's become friendly with, has actually fallen in love with him. Billed as "the comedy that stinks."

Artie (2000) Reviews

  • Take it for what it is worth!!

I really liked the movie. It's obviously a low budget "B" type production (no offense to the producers intended). However, if you lose the snobish "DVD quality" bias, and look at it with an open mind you will see the real essence of how creative & funny these guys are. I liked the similarity to "CHRIS" the Farley brothers show (ya, I am obviously a huge fan... God bless Chris Farley... I sure do miss him). The character "Emily" by Heather Mccomb was great. I know I fell in love with her and was ready to kick Arties ASS for not seeing how adorable she was from the get go!! I say she's easily going to be the next Rene' Zellwigger (sp-sorry) A true American sweetheart wating to be discovered!! Turns out the movie was a great romantic comedy after all. Ya I am a guy, I own a construction company, lift weights, play guitar in a rock band and STILL like romantic comedies!! There are lots of us out there. I recommend the movie ( I bought it), and hope we see more of this type of production from the cast and crew. To me I like to see that talent, a good script and premise can overcome the limitations of a limited production budget.

  • A Real Stinker

No, really. I thought a movie about man's favorite form of short-term disruption would be a little better than this. But it isn't even a 'movie'-its a long form video that KINDA looks like film, except for the bad choppy edits to disguise flubbed lines, etc. Its that bad. The 'college students' are played by men who are balder than the tires on my old Ford Tempo. That's a sign that something's wrong. Basically this is a really bad college movie that attempts to use fart jokes to staple everything together. It doesn't work. The 'bad cop' who harasses our 'heroes' never gets any come-upance. The scenes of Artie's whacked out 70's parents (Hair that long in '76? Come on) are there for no reason. And the ability to pass wind at will doesn't fix any problems for our characters, nor is it cured by finding love. Its like someone threw a bunch of ideas into the air and filmed the ones that landed in the circle on the floor. On top of that, its a cheap-o DVD too, with no title menu or even chapters. There are 'bloopers', but in a movie full of mistakes, who'd notice a blooper? Man I'm glad I only paid $4.80 for this. I think I'll save it as a present for whichever of my loved ones ends up getting a lobotomy in the future. I can't fathom who else would actually like this thing.

  • This is a funny movie!

I laughed, I cried. I laughed and cried at the same time. Sophomoric humor for sure, but the situations and timing make everything in this movie work. The grandfather in this movie had me rolling on the floor. And the bathroom scene was exxplosive!

  • The worst movie I have seen in a while

    cscharnberg2004-10-03

I hired this movie purely for the title "FART The Movie". I thought that something with a title like that would HAVE to be funny. This movie is an absolute pile of crap. The story is lame, the jokes aren't funny, and are we supposed to believe that the balding guy that plays Artie is a college student? This movie seems to skip a big chunk of story and just make assumptions for the viewer. The cast is pretty bad, all the actors are about 5-10 years older than their characters, and the acting is terrible too. This movie was a waste of time to watch, and I don't recommend anyone else bother with it. I didn't laugh once, which doesn't happen very often because I have a pretty immature sense of humour.

  • So vivid! I could practically smell it from my seat.

If there was ever a tasteful movie about a young man's struggle with love and overall gastrointestinal distress, Artie is it! And talk about multi-generational appeal! It's innocent, but completely twisted at the same time. Ya gotta see this film.
